Woonsocket, SD Storm, Apr 1889
Woonsodket [sic], S. D., April 5. -- The storm of Tuesday was the most disastrous ever known in Dakota. It was a hurricane. Nearly the whole side of the Bank of Woonsocket, a brick veneered building was blown down. Small Buildings and outhouses were tipped over and sidewalks torn up. On the prairie surrounding great damage was also done by fires, farmers losing nearly everything.
