McIntosh, SD Passenger Train Derails, Sep 1926
ENGINEER AND FIREMAN KILLED.
Miles City, Mont., Sept. 7 -- (By The Associated Press) -- C. E. FREEMAN, engineer and GEORGE McKUSTER, fireman, both of Mobridge, S. D., were killed and a mail clerk seriously injured when a Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul passenger train No. 15 was derailed near McIntosh, S. D., early today. No passengers were injured, reports here stated.
The engine and five cars, including the mail and baggage cars, one day coach and two sleepers, left the rails with the engine which turned over.
The bodies were taken back to Mobridge.
Railroad authorities immediately started an investigation of the cause of the wreck.
