Rockton, SC Depot Fire, June 1898

Winnsboro, June 9-- The depot at Rockton and two warehouses were completely destroyed by fire about 1 o'clock this morning. Nearly all the freight in the warehouses was burned, including three empty box cars on the siding. Nearly everything in the depot was saved. The midnight passenger was delayed at Rockton several hours on account of the burnt track. The fire originated in one of the warehouses and is supposed to be incindiary.
