Goldville, SC Fire, Jan 1891

CHARLESTON, S. C., Jan. 12.----The town of Goldville, on the Columbia, Newberry and Laurens Railroad, this State, was almost completely destroyed by fire at an early hour this morning. A number of persons were injured by powder explosions. A statement of the losses cannot yet be procured. They will be heavy, but the insurance will cover a large part of them. Goldville is a railroad town and the centre of a large timber section.
