Providence, RI Fire Engine Boiler Explosion, Sept 1870

PROVIDENCE, R. I., Sept. 20.---At a small fire, early this morning, the boiler of steam fire engine No. 6 exploded, injuring five persons and one, named GEO. T. BENSON, perhaps fatally. The engine was built by JEFFERS, of Pawtucket, four years ago, and was supposed to be entirely sound. The cause of the explosion is not yet determined.
