PROVIDENCE, R. I., June 4.----A large fire is raging in River Point, thirteen miles from here. An extensive factory and other buildings have been burned, and the destruction of the entire town is threatened. Steam fire engines have gone forward from this place.

A Series of Fires.

PROVIDENCE, R.I., June 4.---A large fire is now raging in River Point, R. I., thirteen miles from Providence. An extensive factory and other buildings have been already burned, and the fire threatens to destroy the entire place. The Mayor of Providence has been requested by telegraph to send steam fire engines, which have been forwarded.

Riverpoint, 12:30.---it is now thought that the entire village will be consumed. The villagers are removing their goods and ch[ineligible] on all sides, and the greatest consternation prevails among the people. The loss up to the present must be several hundred thousand dollars. It has not yet been discovered how the fire originated.
