PARTIAL DESTRUCTION OF PHENIX VILLAGE< R. I.

Providence, R. I., March 25. -- A fire in Phenix Village, ten miles south-west of this city, early this morning, destroyed eight buildings, four of them business houses, involving a loss of $150,000. The fire broke out in the bowling saloon at 1 o'clock, and burned three hours.
The principal losers on the buildings are W. B. SPENCER, S. E. CARD, PHILIP DUFFEE, JOHN C. CONLEY, and LAWTON & COLLINS, and the losers on stock, &c., W. E. & S. J. HOPIE, JAMES P. ARNOLD, W. A. CAPRON, E. T. LANPHEAR, J. MYRICK & Son, C. M. RALPH, HENRY W. POTTER, ALEXANDER T. KNOX, DAVID CORNELL, OTIS LINCOLN, Phenix Free Reading Room, Phenix National Bank, Warwick Masonic Lodge, PHILIP DUFFEE, J. C. CONLEY, JOSEPH LAWTON, A. W. COLVIN, CALEB ROSS, PHILIP CARROLL, J. C. COLVIN, MAX GORTON, and others. Nearly all the buildings had been erected since the great fire in May, 1871. The loss is nearly covered by insurance. Among the insurance companies losing are the North Missouri, St. Nicholas, Maine Valley, Exchange of New York; Eastern, of Bangor; Lorillard, of New York; Queen, of Liverpool; Providence Mutual, Pawtucket Mutual, City, Butler, and Narragansett of this city.
