Goldsboro, PA Train Accident, Jan 1908

AGED MAN KILLED.

JOSHUA FLURY, a resident of Newberry township, York county, was killed Friday morning about 9 o’clock on the N. C. railway by being struck by the northbound York local. The accident occurred about a fourth of a mile above Goldsboro, and in sight of his home. MR. FLURY attempted to cross the railway tracks and apparently did not notice the approaching train. He was struck by the engine and his body hurled aside. The trainmen picked him up and carried him to Goldsboro, but when they reached the station, MR. FLURY was found to be dead. MR. FLURY was a veteran of the civil war. He was employed for many years by the N. C. company as a track walker, but has been living a retired life for the past ten years. He is survived by his wife and three children.

New Oxford Item, New Oxford, PA 2 Jan 1908
