WAMPUM HAS $50,000 FIRE THIS MORNING.

United Press Telegram.
Wampum, Pa., July 27. -- Fire, alleged to be of incendiary origin, practically destroyed the entire business section of this town today. Eleven buildings were burned. The loss is estimated at fifty thousand. A heavy rain started after the fire and prevented further loss.

DYNAMITE WAS USED TO CHECK PROGRESS OF FIRE.

SPARKS FROM A SKYROCKET SAID TO HAVE CAUSED BLAZE.

Wampum, Pa., July 27. -- Dynamite was employed to check the progress of a fire which early today nearly wiped out the business section of this mining settlement. Eleven buildings were razed before the flames were conquered. The loss is estimated at over $50,000.
It is believed that the conflagration originated from skyrocket sparks. Yesterday Italian miners in this section celebrated a feast day, setting off a large quantity of fireworks during the night.
