$500,000 FIRE IN PITTSBURG.

Five Firemen Injured in Blaze Which Destroys Blanck Storage House.

PITTSBURG, Sept. 1. - Five persons were injured, one seriously, and damage estimated at $500,000 resulted this afternoon from a fire which destroyed the transfer and storage house of J. A. Blanck in the East End section, and spread rapidly to a number of adjoining buildings.

Some time after the fire started the walls of the storage house collapsed, carrying down an adjacent hotel. Fortunately the occupants of the hotel had been ordered to leave the place before the crash.

All the injured were firemen. The origin of the fire is not known.

PITTSBURG, Pa., Sept. 1. - Five persons were injured, one seriously, and a monetary damage of $500,000 resulted today from a fire which destroyed the J. A. Blanck express and storage house. The fire, which strted from crossed wires in the elevator shaft of the storage building, spread rapidly, damaging several adjoining residences and stores in the vicinity. Five firemen were buried beneath the debris when the side walls of the Blanck building collapsed.
