FATAL AURO RACE
Philadelphia Car's Plunge Over Bridge and Kills the Nine Joy Riders Aboard.
Philadelphia, Oct. 7. -- The big touring car, containing nine men, which crashed through the railing of the Thirty-third street bridge at Master street, lies a total wreck in the coal yard seventy-six feet below, into which it plunged. The nine occupants, who had been on a joy ride, are all dead, six of them dying immediately. The machine turned turtle in the descent, and those in it were found crushed and lacerated in the wreckage. The accident ended a wild race the car had been engaged in with a second automobile, having come into collision with a third car on the bridge.
