OXFORD FREIGHT DEPOT IS DESTROYED BY FIRE
Special to The Inquirer.
OXFORD, Pa., April 30.---A large freight depot on the Central Division of the Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington Railroad here was completely destroyed by fire early this morning. Ten loaded cars standing in the freight yard were also burned, and a number of passenger coaches were saved from destruction only by the efforts of the volunteer firemen, who also succeeded in preventing the flames from spreading to a large flour mill less than fifty feet from the burning building. The estimated loss is $45,000.
The fire is supposed to have originated from the small stove which was burning in the office of the freight depot. The work of putting up a new building is already in progress.
