Rankin, PA Boiler Explosion, Apr 1900

FIVE INJURED BY EXPLOSION.

By the explosion of a portable boiler belonging to Drake & Seatton, contractors, at Rankin, Pa., Wednesday night, five men were terribly injured and eight others cut, bruised and scalded. Those dangerously injured are: Joseph Wright, a carpenter, may die; Julius Sidle, foreman; Genneron Faraso, and Italian laborer; Siley Sarb, Italian laborer, will probably die John Flaherty, a laborer. The men were engaged in building a coffer dam in the Monongahela river for the pier of the Union railroad bridge.
