Philadelphia, PA Rowboat Capsize and Drownings, May 1896

PHILADELPHIA, May 23.----Three men were drowned in the Delaware river off Petty's Island yesterday by the capsizing of their rowboat.

They were John Fox, aged 23 years; John Goldman, aged 24, and Theodore Clinket, aged 29. With three companions they had gone on an excursion, when becoming hilarious, the boat was upset. The others were picked up by a passing boat, but Fox, Goldman and Clinket sank and did not rise to the surface. Their bodies were recovered. The drowned men were unmarried.

New Oxford Item, New Oxford, PA 29 May 1896
