Chambersville, PA Mine Accidents, Feb 1910


Mike Rosin Crushed by Falling Slate Roof.

Another accident in the vicinity of Ernest, happened Tuesday when a Slav by the name of Mike Rosin was instantly killed by a fall of slate in a mine at Chambersville.

The accident happened about 10 o'clock in the morning, and was due to the caving in of the slate roof, just as Rosin was leaving the mine.

Fatal Mine Accident at Chambersville Yesterday

Another fatal mine accident occurred in the county yesterday when Paul Farbos, aged 22 years, was killed by a fall of slate in the Chambersville mines. Coroner Hammers was notified and made an investigation yesterday afternoon and decided that an inquest will not be necessary.
