Roaring Branch, PA Wrestling Accident, Mar 1909

Matthew Cleary, an Arnot young man, who recently became telegraph operator at Roaring Branch, met with a peculiar accident on the 6th instant, which resulted shortly after in his death. Mat, who was of a jovial disposition, and a noted wrestler, after returning to his hotel from work, engaged in a friendly tussle with the hotel keeper's son. In some way he slipped and received injuries necessitating an operation. He was taken to the Williamsport hospital, but too late for any help, and he died on Wednesday. His remains were brought here on Thursday evening. The funeral was held from his late home on Saturday, Rev. Mr. Dixon officiating; interment in the Catholic cemetery, Blossburg. The young man is survived by his mother, three sisters and four brothers.
