EIGHT ARE INJURED IN ACCIDENTS

Area Police Kept Busy With Traffic Over Weekend

Eight persons were injured, one severely, in weekend traffic accidents in the district.

Most seriously injured was William E. Dean, 72, Connellsville, who was riding in a car driven by his wife when it went out of control and crashed on Route 51 near Hamilton's Market last night at 10:05, according to State Police.

The husband suffered a possible skull fractured, dislocated right hip, fractures of the right shoulder and right elbow and cuts and bruises of the face. His wife suffered cuts and bruises of the face, arms and legs. Both were admitted at Charleroi-Monessen Hospital.

State Police said Mrs. Dean, apparently traveling too fast for conditions, missed a curve and crashed into a bridge abutment. Damage to the car was placed at $350.

Near Fayette City

Robert Metts, 25, Cleveland, Ohio, and Jean Zyak, 42, Fayette City Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Metts and a passenger, Joyce Harvey, 17, also of Cleveland, were released after treatment at Charleroi-Monessen Hospital for cuts about the head and face.

State Police said Mrs. Zvak had stopped for a traffic sign when her car was struck by Metts Total damage was estimated at $400.

Robert Armstrong, 42, West Brownville, was attempting to make a left turn on Route 711 near Perryopolis when his vehicle was struck by a car operated by Gene Anderson, Fayette City R D late Saturday night.

Anderson was treated at Charleroi-Monessen Hospital for cuts above the eye and right leg. He was not admitted. Nearly $900 damage reported.

Damage amounted to $400 in a three-car accident involving a Fayette City woman Saturday night on Route 711 near Hickory Bottom.

In a chain reaction, Harold Henrick, 30, South Connellsville, stopping to turn at an intersection, was struck by a car operated by Robert Haleman Strasburg, sending it into the third vehicle driven by Carl Stauffer, 30, Dawson Katmyn Hileman, 47, Fayette City was treated for a foot injury at Connellsville State Hospital.

A Dunbar couple, Mr. and Mrs. Ardo Bech, were admitted to Charleroi-Monessen Hospital with injuries suffered when their car wrecked on the Fayette City-Perryopolis Rd. last night at 8 o'clock. The husband received possible fractures of the ribs and a fracture of the left arm.
