Oil Derricks Swept Away

Bradford, PA, May 24. A severe wind and rainstorm swept over this section, doing great damage to oil well derricks, telegraph and telephone wires. In the immediate viicinity of Bradford 75 oil derricks were prostrated by the wind. A new 2- story dwelling on High Street was lifted from its foundation and demolished. A falling derrick at the head of Congress Street fell on a dwelling house, crushing in the kitchen. Trains on all narrow gauge railroads were hemmed in by the fallen trees and were from four to eight hours late.
