Three Killed in Auto Crash Near New Eagle

Three persons were killed shortly after midnight and three others were injured, one critically, in a two-car accident on Route 637 about three miles north of New Eagle.

Belle Vernon State Police tentatively identified the dead as Kenneth Dunseath, 23, Elrama; Diane McClean, 17, West Miflin, and Dickie Stockton, 5½, Detroit, Mich.

Dunseath and Miss McClean were dead on arrival at Monongahela Memorial Hospital at 1:30 a.m. and the Stockton boy died about a half hour after he was admitted.

Cause Undetermined

Officers were unable to determine the cause of the accident.

Raymond Bentley, 19, Elrama, who police believed was driving the car in which Dunseath was a passenger, was listed in "critical" condition at 11 o'clock this morning in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, where he was transferred after initial treatment at the Monongahela hospital. He suffered fractures of the skull, jaw and leg and multiple cuts and bruises.

Police believed Mrs. Phyllis Howard, 27, Homestead, R. D. I, was the driver of the second car. She was transferred to West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, where she was reported in "fair" condition with possible fractures of the arm and leg.

Her stepdaughter, Anita Louise Howard, 17, was taken to Presbyterian Hospital with fractures of the skull and severe cuts about the face and body. She was listed in "fair" condition.

The Stockton boy, who was riding in the Howard car, was a relative who had been on a visit.

Dunseath suffered internal injuries. Miss McClean, who was riding in the Howard Car, also died of internal injuries. The Stockton boy died of a fractured skull.
