4 DEAD ON SECOND SUMMER DAY, MANY ARE PROSTRATED

Heat Maximum Reaches Nineties and City Swelters

WIDESPREAD DISCOMFORT ATTENDS HIGH MERCURY

Summer's second day yesterday brought sweltering weather and a record of four deaths.

Physicians throughout the city reported many cases of suffering from the heat. Partial prostrations were numerous.

The four deaths were:

JOHN CLARK, 65 years old, of 2261 North Bouvier street. Died at 87 West Johnson street, Germantown.
WILLIAM S. KAUFFMAN, 5 weeks old, of 4307 Worth street.
BOSIE DIRIO, 7 months old, 1221 Annin street.
Unidentified man, died at 1336 North Second street.

Humidity Not Great

The humidity yesterday was not greater it was said that with the heat there would have been much greater discomfort.
