One Man Killed and Two Have Very Narrow Escapes

Special to The Inquirer.

READING, Pa., Dec. 14.---Moses Slough, 50 years old, was killed this morning and Milton S. Fry and Henry Soliday badly injured by the caving in of a well wall at the works of the American Steel and Iron Company, in this city.

The well is 10 feet in diameter and 20 feet deep. This morning the three men were directed to clean out the bottom of the well. Shortly after they had entered a portion of the wall started to give way and before the men could get out it fell with a crash.

Slough was covered with several feet of stone and earth. He was smothered to death. Fry and Soliday were only partially covered and were gotten out alive.
