Woman He Gave Life to Save Probably Fatally Injured.

Pottstown, Pa., Jan 25.---John Gallinger, age forty, was killed in front of the Reading railroad station here when he attempted to save the life of Mrs. Mary Groff, age sixty, wife of a Civil war veteran.

Mrs. Groff was about to cross the tracks when a train approached. Gallinger jumped to her aid and while trying to drag her from the track the two were struck. Gallinger was horribly mangled and Mrs. Groff's legs were cut off above the knees. She was rushed to the hospital and will probably die. Gallinger leaves a widow and four children.
