Bolivar, PA Fell Beneath Train, Dec 1907
JOSEPH EASLY MET DEATH ON RAILROAD
Was Returning From Johnstown When He Fell Beneath the Train.
LIVED WITH BROKEN NECK.
Joseph Easly, a former well-known resident of Johnstown, who had been employed at Bolivar for some years was so badly injured there Saturday night the he died while being taken to Johnstown for treatment. Easly was 50 years old and was a son of Former Associated Judge George Easly, a famous Civil War veteran, of Johnstown.
While attempting to dismount from a freight train to Bolivar, Easly was hurled to the track and his neck was broken, in addition to which he received other injuries. His death was not instantaneous and he was found by railroad men, who made arrangements to have him admitted to a Johnstown hospital. Easly died before reaching the institution.
It is said Easly had made a trip to Johnstown and was bound for his home when he met his death.
