CARRIAGE BOTTOM BREAKS, DRIVER BADLY INJURED

With legs protruding through the broken bottom of the carriage in which he had been riding up North Broad street, Frederick Bierick, 35 years old, of 439 North Eighth street, was dragged for several squares yesterday afternoon. For a few moments he managed to keep his legs in motion so that he was not dragged to the ground, but as the horse's pace increased he lost his balance.

The animal was stopped at the corner of Broad street and Girard avenue and the man taken to the Children's Homeopathic Hospital, where it was found that he had broken his right leg.
