Auto Racer Drowns in Delaware During Swim

Morrisville, Pa., Sept. 5 (AP)—Harry D. Riggins, 35, an automobile racer of Norfolk, Va., drowned early today while bathing in the Delaware river three miles south of here.

Riggins and Barney Ooldfield, veteran race driver, spent last evening at the home of John E. Thropp, third, at Thropp farms. Thropp is manager of the Mercer airport at Trenton, N. J., and he and Riggins were close friends.

Riggins’ body was recovered by two state troopers in 12 feet of water an hour after he sank.
