20 CHRISTMAS SHOPPERS HURT IN BUS CRASH.

Lancaster, Pa., Dec. 22. (UP) -- Twenty persons were injured last night, six seriously, when a public service bus skidded on the ice and crashed into a stalled truck standing broadside on the Lincoln Highway, two miles west of here.
State police said the six seriously injured were held in Lancaster General and St. Joseph's Hospitals. The fourteen other persons were treated at the hospitals and at nearby physicians and released.
C. W. McCLARIGAN, aged 31, Lancaster, told police that his bus, loaded with Christmas shoppers returning home, struck the left front end of the truck and caromed across the road into a pole.
McCLARIGAN said he jammed on his brakes when the truck loomed in front of him and tried to pass in front of it when the bus skidded on the icy highway.
JAN R. LANDIS, aged 14, Lancaster, was in St. Joseph's Hospital with a possible fractured skull.
Also in St. Joseph's was ROBERT WRIGHT, aged 15, West Lancaster, and WAVE DOROTHY MILLER, aged 23, Columbia, Pa.
ADOLPH BRITT, aged 29, Tyner, N.C., driver of the truck, andhis assistant, ULYSSES BEASLEY, aged 23, Edenton, N.C. and MRS. BULAH HART, aged 36, Mountville, Pa., were detained in Lancaster General Hospital.
McCLARIGAN and sixteen other passengers escaped injury, police said.
