An Engineer Blown Fifty Yards

PITTSBURG, Oct. 21.---The boiler of a shifting engine at the Eliza furnace of Jones & Laughlin, about three miles south of this city, exploded, killing Engineer JOHN FLATLEY and Fireman THOMAS McGUFF. Pieces of the flying boiler struck and injured Joseph Ferria and John Clark, employes[sic] at the furnace. FLATLEY's body was blown into the Monongahela river, a distance of fifty yards. The cause of the explosion is not yet known.
