FIRE DESTROYED FARM HOME

The farm house of the late Hugh Brown, of Young township, was destroyed by fire of an unknown origin early Thursday morning.

The house had been occupied for some time by the Charles Shultz family. After Mr. Shultz left for his work at the mines at Coal Rua, Mrs. Shultz went to the barn to do the morning work. Looking toward the house she saw flames coming from the second floor. Hurrying to the house she was able to rescue a two-year old child and a three-months old baby sleeping on the first floor, but was unable to save any of the contents.

The Shultz family lost a considerable amount of furniture, clothing and cash. The ten-room house was one of the largest in the township, also one of the oldest homesteads.
