STORM IN BERKS

Hail Stones Five Inches in Diameter Caused Great Damage

READING, July 9.---A destructive storm passed over the eastern end of the county to-day. At Bower's Station the stained glass memorial windows were all broken. The path of the storm was ten miles, and at least several thousand panes of glass were broken, fruit trees stripped, crops levelled[sic] in the fields and grain stacks scattered.

Near Niantic eight cows, the property of William Yoder, were killed by lightning. Hail two to five inches in diameter fell. The damage is at least $6000.
