C. J. HILEMAN'S HOUSE BURNED TO GROUND

Reed Station Family Managed Only to Save Part of Furniture.

LOSS PROTECTED BY INSURANCE

A disastrous fire in which a two-story frame dwelling was totally destroyed and the furnishings of three bed-rooms lost, occurred on the C. J. Hileman farm near Reed station, about 4 o'clock Friday afternoon.

It is not known how the fire originated, but the supposition is that a spark from the chimney fell on the shingle roof and started the flames.

The fire gathered such headway that nothing could be done to save the dwelling although all the furniture in the downstairs rooms and one room in the second story were saved.

The house was owned by C. J. Hileman, who lives at Lansdale, near Philadelphia, and was insured for $1,000.
