Pittsburgh, PA Earth Cave In, Jan 1897

KILLED BY FALLING EARTH.

Pittsburgh, Pa., Jan. 11. -- CHARLES DUFFEL, aged six, was killed by falling rock and earth on Locust Street Sunday night and four young companions were more or less injured. The boys had built a fire under a cliff, when without warning a huge mass of earth overhead loosened and fell upon them. Young DUFFEL was terribly mangled and was dead when taken out.
