Fire Destroys P. J. Rega Truck

Fire Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock destroyed a truck owned by P. J. REGA of Mount Pleasant and driven by Eugene LARKIN near the Dunbar intersection of the Connellsville-Uniontown highway.

LARKIN was enroute (sic) from Mount Pleasant to New Salem with a load of concrete blocks. About 200 yards south of the Dunbar intersection on Route 119, LARKIN reported flames enveloped the cab of his truck and he leaped to safety just before the gasoline tank exploded. It is believed that the gasoline line broke and became ignited from the exhaust.

A passing motorist notified the Dunbar Fire Department but the truck was completely destroyed.
