FIRE AT CONFLUENCE
Four Buildings are Destroyed, Causing Considerable Loss.
CONFLUENCE, PA., Feb. 4. -- Fire yesterday morning caused great damage in the business section of Confluence. The blaze caught in GAILTO'S fruit store, it is stated. It spread to the H. KURTZ department store and WILLIAM BOWORS' harness shop, causing a total loss of all three buildings.
In the KURTZ building were two apartments, occupied by H. KURTZ and G. W. MASTERS. The GAILTO family was also burned out. While all the occupants escaped safely, much of their household goods were destroyed. The Confluence fire department prevented the flames from spreading to other buildings on Huggart street.
