Blairsville, PA Electricity Accident, Jun 1908

ACCIDENTS OF THE WEEK.

Milton Fitzgerald, of Blairsville, climbed to the cross bar of a telephone pole on School street Wednesday evening to make some repairs on a Bell telephone wire and by some means his left hand touched one of the guy wires leading from Indiana Provision company's service.

His screams for help attracted a crowd of people who were powerless to help and expected every moment to see him fall to the ground but with a strength unexpected and unusual he jerked his hand and leg loose and descended the pole where willing hands helped him to Dr. Davis' office to have his burns attended to, after which he was taken to his room and Thursday was able to go home. It was a narrow escape, as it was estimated the 1000 volts electricity had entered his body.
