Altoona, PA Street Car Accident, Aug 1904

A Boy's Narrow Escape.

A 5-year-old boy, named Charles Edgar Wolf, narrowly escaped serious injury by falling from a street car at Eleventh avenue and Eleventh street yesterday afternoon about 3:30 o'clock. The boy's mother had placed him on a seat in the front end of the car, and the sudden lurch in turning the corner threw him to the floor. He slipped through the screen on the side of the car, falling to the ground, but fortunately away from the track. The car was quickly stopped and the boy picked up. He was only slightly bruised. The screams of the woman on the car attracted a large crowd to see the scene.
