Scranton, PA Lackawanna Station Train Accident, Sept 1897

BEHEADED BY A TRAIN.

SCRANTON, Pa., Sept. 20.----Charles Newcomb of Conkling, O., was beheaded at the Lackawanna station this morning. He was in charge of a car of poultry en route from New York city. Newcomb had gone into the restaurant for his breakfast, the train started and in trying to board a car he fell beneath the wheels and was instantly killed.
