State highway patrolmen report the bus turned over as JOSEPH WALSH of New York and Harrisburg, the driver, attempted to swerve it to avoid an aged man walking on the highway. The rear wheels of the bus, police said, slipped off the wet roadway, swinging the heavy machine so violently that it turned upside down.
McGANN and MISS REGENSTEIN were crushed to death. State highway patrolmen reported WALSH, driving westbound, had passed another machine within the range of the bus headlights.
