HOTEL BURNS.

Salem, Ore. -- More than 175 firemen fought a blaze at the Marion Hotel in Salem, Ore., poured water on the fiery structure to no avail. Flames destroyed the main section of the hotel Friday.
Fire Chief WES BAKER said the 12 to 15 persons in the four-story main section were evacuated quickly with no injuries.
BAKER said the fire broke out in the kitchen area.
