8 Army Men Die in Crash Of Bomber
3 Second Lieutenants, 3 Noncoms and 2 Privates Victims
FORT GEORGE WRIGHT, Wash., Jan. 17 (AP)—Eight Army men, three of them second lieutenants, were killed Saturday in the crash of an Army Air Force bombing plane two and one half miles north of the Pendleton, (Ore.) air base, the Second Air Command announced.
The dead:
Second Lieut. A. J. Francisco, pilot
Second Lieut. R. C. Schows, co-pilot
Second Lieut. L. E. Grindle, navigator
Staff Sergt. A. D. Spiers
Sergt. D. C. Clark
Corp. V. A. Learman
Private G. T. Vrable
Private L. Fagan
Home addresses of the men were not available.
Rescue crews from the Pendleton Air Base were at the scene.
The announcement gave the time of the crash as 11:30 a.m.

SPOKANE, Saturday, Jan. 17.—Second Air Force Headquarters said today eight men were killed in the crash of an Army bomber 2½ miles north of Pendleton, Or.
Details of the crash were meagre, but the Air Force said it occurred about 11:30 a. m.

2nd Lieut. R. C. Shows, copilot
2nd Lieut. L. E. Grindle, navigator
