PLANE HITS EAGLE, FOUR PERSONS DIE.

Mitchell, Ore. (AP) -- A light plane hit an eagle in midair Sunday and crashed into rugged territory in north central Oregon, killing four persons, state foresters said.
The family of one of the men said those aboard the plane were CLIFFORD SCHMIDT, the plane's owner; LEONARD WEISENFELD, the pilot; MICHAEL J. WOODLEY, and ROBERT J. EDNER.
All were from Mt. Angel in western Oregon, and about 28 years of age.
State Police and forestry officials were sent to the crash scene after the accident, at about 10:30 a.m.
A witness, Dr. Sam Orr of Prineville, Ore., said he saw feathers deop from the plane before it fell. Pieces of the wreckage were strewn over the timbered country near Mt. Baldy.
The plane was en rouyte from the Portland area to Salt Lake City.
