Crash in Muskogee
Midland Valley Passenger in Head-On Collision Friday.

Fourteen Injured
By the Associated Press.

Muskogee, Ok., Aug 13.—A head-on collision between a Midland Valley passenger train and a Kansas, Oklahoma & Gulf line switch engine in the outskirts of the city Friday was responsible for the injury of fourteen persons, two [end of sentence]

The passenger train, bound from Fort Smith to Wichita, was entering the yards southeast of Muskogee when It crashed into the switch engine, which had entered the Midland Vally main line while switching to make up a freight train.

Mrs A. C. MAPLES of Greenwood, Ark., and Roy GLOVER, 8 of Muskogee, were the most severely injured. Mrs. MAPLES suffered painful body cuts and the boy’s forehad was lacerated. The condition of neither was considered serious.

Eight other passengers sustained slight injuries and the enginemen of both locomotives were hurt slightly when they saw that collision was inevitable and jumped.
