SIX KILLED IN THE TERRITORY

Tornado Swept Through Pryor Creek Sunday Night.

Pryor Creek, I. T., April 25. – Six people were killed by a tornado which swept through the country about four miles south of here last night.

Six Persons Were Instantly Killed Near Pryor Creek, I. T. – Many People Were Injured Fatally – Building Were Demolished and a Strip Swept Clear for 20 Miles.

Pryor Creek, I. T., April 25. – Six persons were killed by a tornado which swept through the county about ten miles south of here last night. Reports have been received that a number of others were injured. The names of the know dead:
JAMES ABBOTT, wife and two children.
ALBERT DEALY, aged six years.
LUCY BITTING, aged eight years.

Injured:
Albert Dealy, father, probably fatally.
Leopold Bitting, both legs broken.

The storm started near Choteau, on the Missouri, Kansas & Texas road, eight miles from here, and swept to the northeast, cutting a path from half to a mile wide and about twenty miles long.

The Abbott home was demolished and four members of the family instantly killed. The storm struck the Dealy home, blowing it to pieces, killing the young son and probabl [sic] fatally injuring the father.

At Grand River, eight miles farther on, the Bitting house was demolished, killing Lucy Bitting and breaking both legs of her father, Leopold Bitting, a farmer. The tornado then passed into Flint Hills, east of the rier [sic], and tore a strip through the woods as clean cut as though made by wood choppers.

The tornado was followed by a torrential rain.
