Columbus, OH Fire, Dec 1904

Columbus, O., Dec. 23.---Fire here on High street, near Broad, destroyed $160,000 worth of property in the center of the business district. In an explosion during the fire five firemen were injured. The fire started in the Mithoff building and spread to the stores of the Krauss, Buller & Benham company and to the Wheeler building. The new eight-story First National bank was in peril for a time, but it escaped injury. All the damage is covered by insurance.
