Special Dispatch to the Cincinnati Gazette.

LEBANON, O., Jan. 1.---Our entire community was shocked this morning by the intelligence that one of our best citizens had met with a very serious, and probably fatal, accident. Mr. William Montfort, who is well-known, and highly esteemed by all, was attempting to adjust a belt on a revolving shaft in his steam plow factory, when he was caught by a belt on the shaft and then by the pulley and belt and fearfully mangled. His arm and side were almost torn to pieces. He received prompt medical attention, but at last accounts is reported dying.

Mr. Monfort, so badly injured in his factory at Lebanon, Ohio, on Saturday last, has since died from his injuries.
