WOMAN DEAD AND MAN MISSING IN HOTEL FIRE.

OTHERS ARE INJURED, ONE PROBABLY FATALLY, IN SPECTACULAR BLAZE WHICH DESTROYS TOLEDO HOSTELRY.

Toledo, O., April 5. -- FIremen and police are working to remove debris from the Niagara hotel annex in search for at least 10 bodies they believe are buried there.

Toledo, O., April 5. -- One woman dead, her husband missing, a fire captain dying and five persons seriously injured tells the story of the burning early in the morning of the Niagara hotel on Summit st.
The body of MRS. JOHN FRYE of Adrian, Mich., was found by firemen on the floor of her room on the second floor with a towel wrapped around her mouth. A man's shoes and trousers, presumed to be her husband's were also found in the room. No trace of his body has been discovered.
Coroner HENZLER believes the couple had just been married, for in the man's trousers was found a receipted bill for a list of household furniture purchased here.
The seriously injured are: Capt. TUYTE of No. 3 engine house, back said to be broken, internal injuries, will die; HAL GATES, Toledo, burned on feet and arms; VERNON, his son, 15, burned on arms and face; HENRY RYDER of Alvedo, O., burns on feet; WALTER WELLIVER, feet burned.
According to Fire Chief ELLING, the fire originated in a storeroom of the People's Outfitting Co., in the basement of the hotel. The cause is not known. The loss is $50,000.
The fire was a most spectacular one. The cries of the hundreds of guests were heard for blocks as they stood in the windows calling for help. Many had narrow escapes from injury and barely escaped in their night clothes.
