Cleveland, OH Bridge Under Construction Collapses, Oct 1907

DERRICK FALLS; THREE DEAD.

TWO PERHAPS FATALLY INJURED IN UNCOMMON BRIDGE BUILDING ACCIDENT.

Cleveland, Oct. 10. -- Three men were killed and several others seriously hurt, two perhaps fatally, by the falling of a derrick to-day, where a new bridge is being erected for the New York, Chicago & St. Louis Railway Company, over the Cuyahoga River.
The dead are:
F. T. BEAHL, conneaut, Ohio, trainmaster Eastern Division of the Nickel Plate Road.
J. S. YATES, Cleveland, Superintendent in charge of the work.
ALBERT FURRER, a watchman, Cleveland.
The most severely injured are:
JOSEPH CONSTETTER, a watchman.
One other whose name was not obtained.
While lifting an eleven-ton girder it bacame unbalanced and knocked the derrick over upon the men below.
