Orrville, OH Private Plane Crashes Into Field, Oct 1971

OHIO PLANE CRASH TAKES FOUR LIVES.

Wooster, Ohio (AP) -- A small, twin-engine plane crashed into a field between two wooded areas just north of Orrville Sunday and exploded, killing all four persons aboard.
The Ohio Highway Patrol said the plane "disintegrated on impact" and the largest identifiable part of a human body "could probably be held in one hand."
The patrol said the victims were DR. and MRS. EDWARD RAMBASEK, of Strongsville and DR. and MRS. ROBERT ROEHM, of Bay Village. RAMBASEK was 54 and ROEHM 48.
DR. RAMBASEK was chief of general surgery at Fairview General Hospital while ROEHM was an orthopedic surgeon.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer said DR. RAMBASEK was a part owner of the plane and had formed a group called Air West, Inc., with two other persons nine months ago and purchased the plane.
The RAMBASEKS are survived by three children and the ROEHMS by four, the Plain Dealer said. The newspaper said the two couples had left Thursday for Tampa, Fla.
The patrol confirmed that the plane was returning to the Cleveland area from Tampa and that it had stopped in Knoxville, Tenn., for fuel.
According to the patrol, the plane cleared a wooded area near Ohio 57 about 10 miles northeast of Wooster, then crashed into the ground and exploded in three areas -- a wing tank, an engine and a third, undetermined part.
The momentum of impact hurled the bodies and plane wreckage forward 300 to 400 yards into another wooded area. Most of the plane pieces found were very small, the patrol said.
Among items found were oxygen bottles, golfing equipment, a woman's drivers license and two sets of credit cards, one belonging to a doctor.
