INCENDIARY FIRES

Cause the Destruction of a Large Factory Building.

The Loss Foots Up $193.000 and is Only Partly Covered by Insurance.

CINCINNATI, Ohio, Sept. 14.---At 3:30 this morning, an alarm of fire called the entire department to the river front, where the building on the southeast corner of Vine and Water streets was found to be burning fiercely. In less that an hour the building and entire contents were destroyed, entailing a loss of $195,000. This makes the third time that the place has been burned out, twice while occupied by the Emory Bros., the present owners, as a candle factory. The loss on the building will be $125,000, which is insured. There was a quantity of peanuts stored in the building, which was used by the Jacob Weller company, packers of pickels[sic] and manufacturers of cider vinegar, and their loss on machinery and store will amount to $70,000, with $60,000 insurance. The origin of the fire is unknown, but it is believed to be incendiary.
