Damage to the Solar Refinery---Cyclone at Hume.

The wind yesterday morning tore away about 30 feet of roof from the paraffine works at the Solar refinery, and carried it about 100 feet, to the pump house, which it struck, breaking several windows and a three inch steam pipe.

ONE CHURCH BLOWN TO ATOMS AND ANOTHER WRECKED---DWELLINGS DAMAGED.

A special from Hume gives the following account of the storm's work in that vicinity, mention of which was made in THE TIMES--DEMOCRAT last evening.

At six o'clock a cyclone struck the little village and did great damage.

The Methodist church was blown to atoms. The building was a wooden structure and but recently repaired, nicely papered and painted There is no portion of it that stands three feet above foundation. The bell fell about fifty feet and did not break. Benches, choir lamps, stands and organ are all smashed. Everybody thought the church was the safest building in town. Mrs. John Hall wanted to go to the church for safety, and just as she spoke of it, down it came.

The First Church of Holiness Was Twisted Over

about three feet from perpendicular so the doors cannot be opened.

John Snidam's house was moved off its foundation about two feet. Samuel Mowery's house was twisted from its foundation. As the chimney came tumbling down on Grandfather Fauntz property, he said: "I guess we are gone," and Grandma replied, "We might as well go this way as any."
