Marion, OH Train Accident, Jan 1914

A Narrow Escape----George Graft, foreman of the Pennsylvania switching crew, had a narrow escape from death Tuesday. While doing some switching in the yards he slipped and fell in front of a cut of cars. Being unable to throw himself from the tracks to prevent being ground to pieces, he caught hold of a rod on the car and in this manner was able to save himself after being dragged a short distance. He suffered an injury to the left knee, but after surgical attention resumed his duties.
